Following the annual conference of 1965, Rev. Albert R. Fookes and family moved to the area to start a new church. Services began in September at the Vista View Elementary School. Thirty-seven were present for the first worship service. On July 1, 1966, the pastoral family moved into the recently-purchased parsonage. Property for the church was purchased and the groundbreaking commenced on January 28, 1968. By July 1968, the congregation had moved into the basement for services. By September 1968, services began in the new sanctuary. The church officially organized on December 8, 1968, with 30 members and 5 junior members. In May 2003, after several years of meeting theaters and schools, the congregation, under the leadership of Rev. Michael Barnett, purchased the 18,000-square-foot Farmington Lutheran Church in Farmington, Minnesota. They moved into the church in the summer of 2004 and had their grand opening on September 19, 2004.
